Jen came out of a domestic violence marriage in 2014. By 2015, she was on a food share program. She received a flat of blackberries and wasn’t sure what to do with all of them, so she made a Blackberry cheesecake for her son’s teachers for christmas. it turned out that this one action would lead to a journey of making Cheesecakes to Ship so replace the picture as a side Hustle to provide for her sons as a single mom. it turned out to be much more successful than anticipated, as friends, family, teachers, and everyone continuously attested to how delicious this cheesecake was compared to all else they’ve ever had before.
Though she tried to have her primary career be in the criminal justice field, doors didn’t seem to open for jen. Business was going good in 2019, and it was even able to provide work for individuals with disabilities, trauma survivors, etc. which provided “cheesecake therapy” to those who needed it.
Everything was going wonderfully until March of 2020 when the global pandemic hit, and it was clear that the mandates in place were preventing Jen from Providing for her boys because her business was deemed non-essential. But she chose to listen to God and not man, and it caused a Divine appointment where Jen was able to meet with Pastor Rob McCoy and Kirk Cameron and they did a documentary called non-essential. Through this divine appointment, beloved cheesecakes were able to stay afloat and we made many Cheesecakes to Ship during the holiday season.
